This Tuesday Point Pedro Louis Castellanos resigned as supervisor of health and occupational hazards (in Sisal) after nearly six years in office.
In a letter to Labor Minister Louis Miguel de Camps, he said that while performing his duties, he made it a priority to strengthen the Dominican Social Security system, with a special focus on family health insurance and occupational risk insurance.
Directed by Castellanos in La Cisal Order No. 78-15, March 25, 2015, since he was appointed by former President Danilo Medina.
Castellanos is a physician, with a master’s degree in public health and epidemiology, graduated from Venezuelan universities. Similarly, he specializes in social research, senior public management and social policy management.
Completed Diploma in Thought and Science on Complex and Chaos.
For 20 years, Castellanos has served as a United Nations competing industry international civil servant for the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), representing these organizations in various countries, including Guatemala. He has also served as the Regional Coordinator for the Epidemiology and Disease Control Program for the United States.
In the field of education, he has served as Professor, Researcher and Guest Lecturer on Social Policies at various universities and scientific events.
At Venezuela Central University, he graduatedHe was a professor in the field of prevention and community medicine and a research coordinator at the Institute of Biomedicine.
Prior to launching Sisal, he was the Director General of the Presidential Directorate General of Programs (DJP) for the national literacy programs “Quizquia Abrende Candico”, Comprehensive Early Childhood Care “Quizcia Empisa Candico” and “Quizquo Somos” for extreme poverty alleviation.
He was also a member of the Health and Social Security Commission of the country’s Foro Ciudadano.
This epidemiologist has published various publications on social policies and health systems on other topics.
