The New Orleans Breakers established themselves as the best starting team in the USFL on Sunday, defeating the Tampa Bay Bandits, 34-3. Quarterback Kyle Slaughter completed 25 of 39 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns, and nearly all of his offensive weapons had had big days. Jordan Ellis rushed in 21 times for 64 yards, and Jonathan Adams had five passes for 92 yards.
The Breakers jumped early and never looked back. The offense recorded contact with each of their first two possessions, and the defense forced three consecutive bandits to their first three possessions. Second-placed Jordan Ta’amu was seen as one of the top quarterbacks this spring, but he struggled on Sunday, completing just 8 of 18 passes for 62 yards and one interception. Brady White also had some running, completing 3 of 10 passes for 35 yards and picking one.
The bandits are a much better team than they showed in this shocking loss, but the real story is that this Breakers team looks loaded. Make sure to check out USFL Ranking And season schedule also. We have the latest news on our website USFL page here.
