emphasized in CD Projekt Red blog postThe studio looked back to the first quarter of 2022 and revealed that during this time it finished its search for the new Witcher game.

“We are very keen to reconsider the universe that has shaped our history to such an extent,” President Adam Kissinsky said in the post. “We recently completed the research phase for the first game in the new Witcher saga, which means that from now on the additional development expenditures will be tapped into our balance sheet.”
The recent entry into pre-production means a new Witcher game is still years away, explaining why CD Projekt Red only revealed it with one teaser.
Something so small that still generated countless fan theories, however, centered around the medal leading some to believe The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Ciri would be the protagonist in the new game.
CD Projekt later confirmed that the photo is of a Lynx, but whether or not the Witcher School was new is still a matter of debate.
We don’t know much about the game, other than that CD Projekt Red has partnered with Epic Games to build it in Unreal Engine 5 and that its director has promised there will be no crisis in his watch.
