The Waukesha tragic suspect has been charged with 5 counts of murder

(CNN) – Prosecutors officially charged Darrell Brooks with five counts of first-degree homicide Tuesday.

Brooks was arrested Sunday for allegedly using his truck during a Christmas parade in Waukesha, killing at least five people early and injuring dozens more.

This Tuesday, authorities confirmed the death of a third-person baby.

Waukesha Police Chief Dan Thompson told a news conference Monday that his office had recommended the charges to the district attorney.

According to indictment filed Tuesday, police say they will press the number five who deliberately killed a Milwaukee man after an attack that injured a total of 62 people, including at least 18 children.

Brooks was released from prison two weeks ago on charges of using a vehicle on a woman who claimed to be her son’s mother, court documents show. He was released from prison on Nov. 11 on $ 1,000 bail, which was recommended by the Milwaukee County Attorney’s Office but is now being investigated.
