Seattle – The Houston Astros put their All-Stars closer Ryan Pressley In the list of injured for ten Saturdays due to inflammation in his right knee.
The right-hander made four appearances during the first week of the regular season. Manager Dusty Baker said Presley was bothered by the pain for a few days and the team sent him back to Houston for an additional checkup.
Presley’s speed was noticeably low during his first few appearances, but Baker didn’t think the knee problem was a factor. Pressly was 0-1 with 2.70 ERA and three saves to start the season.
