Texas shooting kills at least three | Univision News Events

The Austin-Travis County EMS account said on Twitter that three people were killed Sunday in a shooting in Austin, Texas.

Authorities call the incident “a tragedy” and identified the attacker as 41-year-old Steven Nicholas Proderic, who is still on a large scale. They also pointed out that he may be a former law enforcement officer, but clarified that this information is still under investigation.

At a press conference on Sunday afternoon, after receiving a warning of the incident, they arrived at the scene and found three people injured.

Although they did not identify the victims, they noted that they were three adults: two Hispanic women and one African-American male. A minor was involved in the incident, but he was not injured and is now in custody.

Based on the preliminary investigation, they noted that he may have known the victims, so it may have been a planned action against the deceased. No motive has been identified for the shooting.

Authorities did not provide information about the weapon used, but they did emphasize the suspect’s danger on a larger scale.

What happened

Shortly before 12 noon, goat police, fire and other emergency services responded to calls for shootings on the Great Hill Trails and Rain Creek Parkway, which, according to an initial report, tweeted that at least three people had been shot. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

In a later update on the matter, the Austin Police Department said the suspect had not been arrested and that it appeared to be a “domestic” and “isolated” incident, so there would be no danger to the public.

At least eight people have been killed in a shooting in Indianapolis this week, with President Joe Biden saying it was “a disgrace” and “should be stopped.” Biden made it clear that he was in favor of banning assault rifles.
