CD Review: Gabriel The Marine – Your Friends and Loved Ones

Gariel The MarineGabriel The Marine is an Indie Rock Band from Long Island, New York that has skilfully melded talented musicians from Yale, Manhattan School of Music, and Julliard to make this incredible EP. In the Spring of 2009, the band entered VuDu Studios in Freeport, New York to work with producer Mike Watts (The Almost, Self Against City, As Cities Burn) to record the resulting five song EP "Your Friends and Loved Ones". Soon after the band was featured on the 2009 Bamboozle Festival with headlining artists No Doubt and Taking Back Sunday, and was featured in Spin Magazine's Top "15 Bands You Must-Hear-At-Bamboozle".

Your Friends and Loved Ones has delightful tracks such as On And On, Falling Faces, and The Ocean that I can imagine being played on the TV show “One Tree Hill“, due to the trendy quality that gives Gabriel the Marine the credit they deserve.

Band members Dylan Ebrahimian, Michael Desmond, Dominick D'Agostino and Tommy Davis have written and performed a great set of catchy songs and lyrics. The use of the electric violin adds to the already paradisaical sound throughout. The Puppet is danceable and well blended and I would love to see this band continue to bring vitality to the world of pop rock.
