The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) conducts about 18 inspections in the national district and in the provinces of Santo Domingo, La Vega, Monte Plata and Duarte (San Francisco de Magorus).
“The raids included various farms, villas, apartments and shopping malls. The purpose of the raids was to gather evidence and confiscate property,” experts in the operation told the media.
This will be the second phase of this anti-corruption campaign, in which the public ministry accuses a group of being part of a religious-military network.
In this case, Colonel Rafael Nice de Asa, the former defense chief of former President Danilo Madinah, said Adan Cossares was already in custody for 18 months; Pastor Rosie Guzman and his son Tenner Blade and Army Sergeant Alejandro Jose Montero Cruz.
Major Raul Crohn Jimenez is under house arrest after cooperating with his statements to the Ministry of Public Works.
Furthermore, Judge Kenya Romero declared the case complex.
Operation Corel was announced on April 24 with 27 trials in various parts of the country, and officials warned that other investigations could take place as part of the case.

In the early days of the case, Deputy Attorney Yeni Bernice Rhinoso said the public ministry had a wide and complex investigation into the “most serious facts” and that it was “still diligently involved in the investigation” as they do on a daily basis.
“At this stage of the process, no details have been given. What we can report is that we are ready to learn about this process, and the Ministry of Public Works will continue to deepen the investigation into this and other cases,” said Rhinoceros, the director prosecuting the MP.
Renoso defined the coral case as a “mafia-style criminal network.”
