2011 saw the return of Men Without Hats with their Dance If You Want Tour that brought their iconic hits The Safety Dance and Pop Goes The World across Canada for the first time in 2 decades. The Montreal New Wave group is excited to announce the May 22nd release of their highly anticipated new album Love In The Age Of War (out on Big Fat Truck). This will be their first album in almost 10 years and features 10 original songs written by Ivan Doroschuk, including first single Head Above Water. The single is available for sale digitally on iTunes. The album, produced by Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy, Marilyn Manson), features Ivan (voice & electronics), his brother Colin Doroschuk (vocals) as well as Lou Dawson (vocals & live keyboards) and James Love (guitars). The group has been busy putting together an exciting stage show with dates to kick off in Quebec after the release.
The 1980’s group led by original member Ivan Doroschuk reformed in 2010 to perform at Rifflandia and then blew the socks off of their Club Deville SXSW showcase in March 2011, earning rave reviews. In April 2011 they announced their Canadian tour, which was well received by fans and new audiences across the country.
With six studio albums released since forming in the late 70’s – their songs have been featured on hit TV series such as Glee, The Simpsons, Futurama and Family Guy. The Safety Dance reached Top 10 in the US, the UK and 25 other countries around the world.
