Santo Domingo.-Marilyn Paulino honored her mother and grandmother by winning several medals at the Olympics in Tokyo, presenting her with silver medals in both the 4×400 and individual events.
Upon his arrival, the sprinter, along with other athletes, was welcomed into the country this Tuesday at a small ceremony in his honor at the facilities of the International Airport of the United States (AILA).
The commission of the Ministry of Sports and the Dominican Olympic Committee includes relatives of athletes, other athletes and state representatives from the provinces of Monte Plata and San Pedro de McCormack.
Marileidy won two silver medals at the 4x400m hybrid relay and individual at Tokyo 2020, and bronze at the 4x400m hybrid relay at the 2021 World Relays. He finished seventh in the 200m and 13th in the 100m at the 2019 Panam Games. He tied his best score at 50.06 in the opening round and 49.38 in the semifinals.
Gerardo Serum, President of the Dominican Athletes’ Representative, thanked the people who contributed in one way or another to Korea achieving its best goal at the Olympics.
And Paulio, Sprinter said: “On behalf of my team, the Dominican people who did not support and prayed on their knees, we are so proud to do everything according to God’s will.
