LT Charger Rasawn Slater suffers torn biceps, expected to miss rest of 2022 season

Chargers Rashaun Slater suffered a torn biceps tendon on Sunday Loss to Jacksonville and is expected to miss the rest of the 2022 season, NFL Network Insider’s Tom Pellisero reports.

The news makes Sunday’s defeat more expensive. Slater has had a stellar rookie season and established himself as a left-footed tackle in Los Angeles for the future, long-term protector for quarterback Justin Herbert. Unfortunately for the shipper, a week after Herbert had a Traumatic injury to the rib cartilagethe blind side blocker suffered a more serious injury that would likely end his campaign after just three matches.

Slater ended the 2021 season with an A Powerful attacking score from Pro Football Focus From 83.6, and in three weeks, he was on his way to a second year better with a score of 84, a sign backed by an excellent ability to hinder running. Rather than continuing at a solid pace, a bicep injury would end his second season in his first month.

Storm Norton substituted Slater on the left tackle and struggled hard, allowing eight pressures – the most capitulated by any member of the Chargers on Sunday – despite playing half of the team’s total pass blocking shots in the game, per PFF.

Los Angeles will have to look inward to determine the best path to replace Slater. No matter who the shipper picks, it will be a tall order for a team with playoff aspirations that is suddenly reeling after two straight losses.
