KISS founding member, drummer, and vocalist Peter Criss has revealed the cover and release date for his biography "Makeup to Breakup: My Life In and Out of KISS." The book, which shows a photograph of the KISS star in his makeup and costume on the front cover, will be written with famed collaborator Larry “Ratso” Sloman. Makeup to Breakup will relate Criss‟s remarkable life, and through it, the mega rock star‟s fascinating journey in KISS.

It‟s about a Brooklyn kid who conquered the world, composing and singing the band‟s biggest hit “Beth,” and faced the perils of excess and his own mortality, including his battle with breast cancer. With the help of his unshakeable faith, he emerged from it all with a newfound peace. From sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll to multiple brushes with death, Makeup to Breakup will be Peter Criss‟s unvarnished and eye-opening life story.

“I am so blessed that I am finally going to write my autobiography, and I hope you enjoy the ride,” said Criss in a press release. “The best of all is I get to share my true feelings of my love for God, family, friends and fame. It‟s been a wonderful life.” Scribner is an imprint of Simon & Schuster, Inc. – a global leader in the field of general interest publishing.
