Anaheim, CA – The legendary “Star Wars” and “Raiders of the Lost Ark” Composer John Williams welcomed an unexpected guest at his 90th birthday celebration Thursday – his musical epic Harrison Ford.
Ford, who starred as Han Solo and Indiana Jones, took to the stage during Williams’ show at Star Wars Celebration, the first gathering of fans of the sci-fi franchise in Anaheim in three years.
Williams had just finished managing the theme for “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and revealed the theme for Ewan McGregor’s new Disney+ series “Obi-Wan Kenobi” with full orchestras when Ford showed up to surprise the composer, turning the event into a full-on birthday party.

“It is a special honor for me to congratulate John on his 90th birthday,” Ford said emotionally, his voice chopping. “I told John on another occasion that music follows me everywhere I go. I’m happy with that.”
Speaking on Williams’ popular “Indiana Jones” topic, Ford said with a smile, “That music was on the operating room speakers when I had my last colonoscopy. I passed.”
Ford went on to call Williams, winner of five Oscars and 25 Grammys, “the most generous man, a wonderful man and a wonderful talent.” Ford revealed Williams’ adaptation of James Mangold’s “Indiana Jones 5” score, saying the film was “nearly finished.”
Ford announced its June 30, 2023 release date. “I’m really proud of the movie we made, so I’ll see you all over the campus,” he said.
As Williams waved from the stage, the Star Wars celebration audience ended the program by singing “Happy Birthday.”

Diego Luna presented the teaser trailer for Andor, a new series that follows his rebellious character Cassian Andor before Andor’s heroic death in 2016’s Rogue One.
The series will premiere August 31 on Disney+.
Series creator Tony Gilroy said the series will bring back five years of “Rogue One” and show Andor’s transformation from a selfish man to a doomed rebel. Filming for the second series will begin in November, which will follow the events that led directly to “Rogue One.”
Gilroy said, “The last scene will take you straight to Rogue One.
Luna was thrilled about the new series, especially knowing that his character would survive to appear in “Rogue One.”
“I am so excited to know that I will be shooting a lot more,” he said. “And the beauty of this show: It’s impossible for them to kill me.”
