American Airlines The airline has canceled more than 300 flights amid a staffing and maintenance crisis.
According to ABC NewsAs of this Monday, 97 flights had been canceled. 301 flights were canceled over the weekend.
This weekend, no flights from or off Puerto Rico were canceled, however, the airline confirmed. EL VOCERO said a flight had been canceled this Monday, but so far no details were available.
Flights have been canceled due to calls from staff reporting illness and other issues among staff.
Speaking to ABC, The airline explained that most of the cancellations were on A320 and 737 aircraft. But they insisted that at least 50 to 60 flights a day for the rest of July and 50 to 80 flights a day until July could be canceled.
“We have made specific changes with the aim of affecting a smaller number of customers by adjusting flights in markets with multiple relocation options,” the company said in a statement.
According to reports, American AirlinesS encountered problems with catering staff and wheelchair operators.
The airline explained Spokesman The first few weeks of June were unprecedented for the company’s largest operating centers. “This has had a major impact on our operations and has caused delays, canceled flights and the schedule of crew members and disruptions to our customers’ plan,” the airline said in a written statement to the media.
The company said the cancellation was aimed at affecting fewer customers. “We have made specific changes to affect a smaller number of customers by adjusting aircraft in markets with multiple restructuring options.”
