About YQG Rocks

YQG Rocks logoYQGrocks is a Windsor-Essex music, entertainment, fashion, food and lifestyle website. It began as a different website in Vancouver, BC in 2009 but was sold to a large US media outlet in 2014. Some of the content from that original site remains on YQGrocks.

As a Vancouver website, this site was ranked as a Top 100 Music Blog of 1.25 million blog sites by the readers at Technorati, and certified with an award of excellence from the Canadian Web Awards. It was considered Canada’s one-stop music website with coverage spanning music, movies, entertainment and fashion.

YQGrocks | About YQGrocksStarted in 2009 as a Canadian specialty rock music website, it grew to join the ranks as one of the Top 1.4% of all websites in the world according to Alexa (July 31, 2011), leading the next generation of popular music, entertainment, fashion and movie coverage across Canada.

We sponsored several community events around Canada, including charitable fundraisers such as Boobalicious in Toronto and Vancouver, the BC Cancer Foundation’s Underwear Affair in Vancouver and still remains a proud supporter of Canadian Guide Dogs For The Blind nationally. We were also part of National Underwear Day across North America in 2010, giving away nearly $1,000 in underwear to Canadians.

Additionally, as the old site, we were a presenter and sponsor of Canadian national tours for Aerosmith and Finger Eleven, as well as presenting local concerts for KISS, ZZ Top, Alexisonfire, Bullet For My Valentine, Meat Loaf and several others. As part of a mandate to assist local musicians we were a proud presenter of national tours for indie bands such as One, Omega Crom and Versus The Nothing.

In 2011, we started publishing a digital weekly magazine (free for readers). The weekly magazines quickly built a regular audience of about 20,000 readers per issue. We also launched a nationally syndicated radio show, which broadcast on 8 stations across Canada up to 2014.

#YQGrocks is excited to carry on that early tradition with the launch of this new site in Windsor, Ontario in 2017 and will continue to provide cutting edge music, entertainment, fashion and food stories.
