A video shows Mike Tyson hitting a passenger on a plane

Mike Tyson was involved in a physical dispute on a flight Wednesday night. Edited video obtained by TMZ Sports shows the Hall of Fame punching a passenger sitting behind him.

A spokesman for the San Francisco Police Department told ESPN on Thursday at about 10:06 local time at San Francisco International Airport that “officers were dispatched to a physical fight on a plane.” The department, which declined to identify those involved, said it had not released the names of those detained.

Police said two subjects were later arrested before being released. One person was treated at the scene with non-life threatening injuries.

“That material provided minimal details of the incident and police refused to co-operate further with the investigation,” the official said.

In the video obtained by TMZ Sports, a person is seen with blood on his forehead, but it is not clear what happened before that. According to TMZ, they were on a Jet Blue flight to Florida.

“Unfortunately, Mr Tyson had an incident with an aggressive passenger on a plane who started harassing him and threw a bottle of water at him while he was in his seat,” a Tyson spokesman told ESPN on Thursday.

Police said they knew there was a possibility of videotaping the incident, which came after an initial investigation. The video was sent to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
